Each org has a limited number of sandboxes available to it, and the type of sandbox determines how often it can be updated to be a fresh copy of the production org. Refresh time varies, and Salesforce sends you an email alert when a requested refresh completes.

Dashboards are based on reports that run intermittently. You can schedule dashboards to refresh on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The platform can send you an email alert when a scheduled dashboard refresh occurs.
